Eat with simple balsamic vinaigrette, by mixing together olive oil and balsamic vinegar or if you want a creamier dressing, use low fat yogurt or sour cream as a base and season with some mustard, salt, pepper, and dried herbs.

Some of them are indigestion, and breaking down poisonous toxins in the body and breaking down blood products, also clotting of the blood and in glucose metabolism. so as you cann imagine if something goes wrong with the liver there is a number of problems or symptoms that you may had.

These are some of the conditions that can cause liver diseases. 1. Hepatitis- is when the cell of the liver become inflamed and are not properly functioning, many things can cause hepatitis., the most common are different types of viruses, there's hepatitis a. Usually it comes from contaminated food or water, and is usually not life threatening. And usually gets better after a few weeks or a few months, Other more serious hepatitis, are hepatitis B, C, D and E, these are all cause by different kinds of viruses, some of them are more treatable than the others. Some of them like Hepatitis B can be completely prevented if you received a vaccine. against Hepatitis b.

Other liver disease are Cirrhosis, It is when the liver begins to decline and it's function and also it's architectural structure from chronic inflammation, This is usually caused by excessive alcohol consumption over a long period of time, and sometimes by other chronic infections.

Other problems or diseased that can occur with the liver is when you have the liver cancer. there's primary and there's secondary liver cancer. Primary liver cancer is when you actually have a cancer, that arises from cell of the liver, Secondary liver cancer is when cells from a different cancer in a different part of the body metastasized or moved in to the liver.

You can also have acute liver failure, can be caused by different metabolic problems that are happening in the body or toxins that poisoned the liver and cause it to fail. you ca also have autoimmune disorders, that affects the liver.

Sore throat's natural remedies.


When you have a sore throat, It is one of the signs that there is something going wrong internally with your body. It is one of your body's first defense lines, So you do want to make sure that you are taking care of your self during that time, and just not letting it go. Now soothing that sore throat as you know there are so many over the counter products that you can use. Even natural cough drops that can help, But there's a limit to how many times that you can take them per day. because of the some of the products that are getting in to your system.

Some things that you can do naturally at home however, is using a warm salt water gargle, and yes warm, because what's that going to do is that it's going to open the pores and allow that salt to naturally get into the system a little bit easier, and that's going to help kill any bacteria that's back there, as well as an addition to that you can use zinc lozenges or if you can make a zinc gargle as well. Can help significantly soothe that, but also instead of soothing, they're treating the actual problem.

If you just want the relief from it, If you want you may use warm tea with hone in it, and maybe a little bit of lemon can be good to health as well.The tea's that are very natural and helpful in with your sore throat are, Slippery Elm, Marshmallow and calendula with white willow bark and you can add honey with that, just don't use honey with child underage. ANd a pinch of cayenne pepper would also be nice to be added with those teas.

Having lactose Intolerance.


Ok so before we go further, what exactly is lactose intolerance? Is that your body is unable to digest the sugar in milk, called lactose, this is due to the lack of enzyme lactase, that is usually found in your intestine that digest that sugar, so when people have lactose intolerance when they do have things like milk or milk products and yogurt and things like that, and it causes a lot of nausea, cramps, gas, and indigestion. it's not uncommon to have lactose intolerance.

So if you think that you have lactose intolerance, you probably need to avoid plain milk, a good substitute could be something like soy milk, my children love the soy milk, there's also the rice milk, they don't have lactose in them. Another tip is that you have to make sure that you choose calcium rich foods that are non-dairy or non-animal like of that broccoli, green leafy vegetables,pinto beans, and enriched orange juice because they have added calcium as well that you might be lacking from not having milk products. Another thing is that make sure that you get 2 to 4 servings of calcium-rich foods a day, Now if you know that you are going to eat lactose in some form, you can try taking something that you can buy at the drugstore called Lactase, basically you ingest the enzyme in a pill form before you eat the lactose, it helps reduce the symptoms of cramping, and gassing and all.

If you think you are lactose intolerance, don't feel bad like what i mentioned earlier this is not uncommon. You can still have the good healthy lifestyle without the pain.

A good laugh a day, goes a long way.


We all love to have a good laugh, And we all know that laughing does makes us feel better, but now scientist have proven that the hearty jiggly of the belly can be good for your heart. Scientists has tested the blood vessels of 20 healthy patients after they watch a comedy and a drama and found out that laughing dramatically improve the working of the endothelial the lining of the blood vessels they dilated or open up better.

the blood flow improved 22%, the reverse was through of the drama, the blood vessels were constricted or clamp down, blood flow decreased 35%. Mental stress maybe associated with increase likelihood of heart disease and heart attacks. There is likely a stronger mind and heart connection, maybe you don't need to be a stand up comic, but the researchers now say that 15 minute of laughter a day goes a long way towards a good health.

The good thing about laughter is if you do it daily, There's going to be a lot less wear and tear, and you don't have to worry about heart breaking. So just like those who don't exercise or don't eat a good diet Perhaps the jokes have been than those of us who haven't taken the time t have a good chuckle.

So if life has been stressing you too much, try to watch a funny movie or shows and have a good laugh. It's not that hard, really! LOL!

Well, Most of us knows that the physical health affects our mental health, I think you probably are aware that fast food has extremely high amount of calories, high in fat as well as sodium and carbohydrates than protein, vitamins and minerals, So if somebody is constantly eating those fast food, they'll going to be getting all those extra energy fuel for their body except that it's not going to have the vitamins and minerals that the body need.

So if you are consuming fast food on a daily basis, maybe not everyday but maybe every other day. You are still be getting high amount of calories with really low nutrients, so now your body is constantly needing the nutrients that you are not getting from the food, so I think that it contributes to food cravings, basically a food craving is your body wanting and saying that he needs those nutrients, so you are always hungry and always looking for food. and you may eat a meal and shortly after that you are hungry again and so you are looking forward for another meal.

now remember all those energy you get when you eat at fast food, in just few days of eating them constantly, You will now feel irritable, grumpy i must say. You may have that energy back if you eat again, but it will soon fade away, the fast food really does makes you fat and not getting any food nutrients that we need. So this maybe hard but this must be stop. Maybe once in a while is ok, but everyday? or every other day? think again. So when you are hungry why not grab something healthy.

What you should know about boils.


Boils was one of the skin problems that most people just take for granted, and sometime has no idea what are the causes why they have it and stuffs like that.

Boils are painful puss-filled lumps under the skin that caused when bacteria infect and inflamed one or more hair follicles, These boils usually starts as tender red lumps They quickly filled with puss, getting larger and more painful until they rapture and drain. Although some boils disappears a few days after they occur, Most take up to two weeks to heal up.

They can occur anywhere on the skin, especially on the face, on the neck, in the armpits, on their buttocks or thighs, in hair baring areas where you more likely to sweat, or have a friction, sometimes these boils occurs in clusters, that we call carbuncles.Any one can develop these but people who have poor general health, diabetes, a suppressed immune system, or acne or other skin problems are in increase risk, you more likely suffer complications if spreading infection including blood poison including MRSA.

Usually you can care for a single boil yourself. all you need to do is to apply a warm wash cloth or compress after soaking in warm salt water, It's very effective you can do this for at least 10 minutes every few hours and gently wash the boil 2 or 3 times a day, After washing you can apply over the counter antibiotic and covered with bandage, never squeeze the boil because this can spread infection, you need to wash your hands thoroughly after you treated the boil to prevent the spread to other areas of the body, but you do need to see your doctor if you have a boil that is on your face or on your spine, or if you have a boil that worsen rapidly or it was very painful, boils that are very large or haven't healed in two weeks, or accompanied by fever, also you are needed to be examine by a doctor if you get frequent boils that's another reason to see your doctor.

What are the causes of hearing loss?


We love to listen to music, I think everybody has their own type of genre, But, does loud music can cause loss of our sense of hear? But we all know that sounds are obviously tolerated for many years. Now the sounds are very much acceptable, but of course the sound should also be in an acceptable or reasonable range. Have you been to a rock concert? Where were you located? Were you near those gigantic speakers? Why?

Because many youngsters nowadays may have some minor hearing problems after a concert. They usually have those temporary threshold, So recreationaly were exposed to a lot of noise. Employment wise, there are a lot of employees that work in an environment that is very loud, construction people, people who work with the airplanes in the airports, they have a fair amount of exposure sometimes, Now if the length of exposure exceeds the time that is tolerable, They could develop some hearing impairment.

Now how do you know if you might have some hearing problems that may somehow cause hearing loss in the future? Associated with this hearing loss almost always is the ringing sound that you hear in your ear which is also known as Tinnitus, and Tinnitus is a brain signal that the brain is hearing a sound which really a phantom sound because it's not there, and what it really is, is damage to the nerve in the frequency range that is outside sound that stimulates that nerve act.

So yes simple sounds that may be unacceptable might give us hearing problems in the future, so take care of your ears, we only have one pair.

I thought it was just like before, when google just upgrade or did something that's why most sites loses their page rank, and then it went back again after sometime or days. But I was surprised that it's been a month, and my blog still has zero page rank. I'm still searching for the answer to my question, hope if could get as soon as possible so I can save my blog. Voice is one of the important thing that we have, Just imagine if you have no voice, you can't speak, you can't sing, and even your laugh is totally mute. I have nothing against being mute. But if you have voice then save it, Learn how to take care of it, Especially if you are aspiring, professional or amateur singers. Your voice is your life.

Now here are great tips to remember whenever you are going to sing and how to take care of your voice.

- always remember to eat very light meal before you sing. Aside from you will unable to concentrate when you are full beacuse you are full, and of course you will be having a hard time breathing, your tummy is bloated, the diaphragm, cannot move freely because of your full stomach, and when you burp and you have acid reflux, now that is really something. It will totally help damage your vocal chords

- drink lots of water the whole time, And take note of this, the water should be at a room temperature. not cold. Some people usually drink before they sing or after, but you should drink the whole time you feel like drinking, it will keep you hydrated.

- eat healthy food, such as lean meats, vegetables, eggs, not much of hot spicy food junk foods messed up with your throat so try avoid is as much as possible

- quit smoking, not just for your voice but for you whole body as well.

- do not drink alcohol, drinking dries up your vocal chords.

If ever you have severe case of throat problems just go check your EENT. So if your job uses voice, then save it. Nobody can save it but you.

Apple Cider Vinegar for a healthy hair


This is really not new for many but for those who haven't heard about it here's something that you may want to try to have a healthy hair, I tried this already and it does work for my hair.

Here's how it to prepare the apple cider rinse,
1 cup or of slightly warm water and one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Simply mix that 1 tablespoon if apple cider vinegar to your water. After you shampoo you hair for the final rinse, pour the dilute apple cider vinegar. thoroughly through your hair, and leave it, then dry your hair. I know that the vinegar aroma stays while your hair is still wet. But the aroma will disappear as your hair dries.

This apple cider vinegar rinse will leave your hair shiny and takes away any residue from products that we might use to style our hair. And closes up the cuticle so that light reflects better and we have less tendency towards frizz and fly away hair. It also leaves your scalp dandruff free. I usually do this once a month and it does made my hair shiny and zero flakes. If you are really concern about the smell, Make sure that you schedule a day for this once a month, a day that you will have nothing to do or no places to go. After a day you can shampoo your hair and condition it with a good smelling shampoo.

We all know about the artificial sweetener aspartame is now widely used in thousands of products all over the world. You probably are using aspartame without noticing it. Well. Based on researches. Aspartame is not good for our health.

Aspartame is known to have cause seizures, blindness, obesity, headaches and even cancer. Diseases such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimers, ADHD, diabetic and a lot more on the list. Apartame is consists of 2 amino acids aspartate and phenylalanine.
Even if the safety of Aspartame has been affirmed by FDA for many times over the past 23 years, The FDA receives more complains about it's adverse reactions to aspartame compared to any other food ingredient in the history.

Stop the sugar cravings


Ok, so one of the hardest thing to resist is sweet. And yes most of us has sugar cravings. There are just some people who can't stop this and there are ones that ended up in sugar addiction. I myself is sometimes guilty of these cravings. But how are we going to control this very unhealthy habit?


One of the things that will help you to stop this is to not take sodas. Soft drinks maybe one of your favorites but you really have to stop drinking it. Soft drinks does taste good but they are just not healthy so just cut them out. Remove them from your list and you are definitely helping yourself.

Another thing is to avoid Artificial sweeteners. Why? Based on research studies, these artificial sweeteners actually increase your sugar cravings, they increase your appetite, and it has aspartame, known to be very bad for your health.

Try not to buy those junk food and take it home. why? simply because if you have sweets at home, It's so hard to avoid it. You will end up sneaking for that candy bar at night. Especially if in your head you know that it would be really easy to just walk to your pantry and get one. Now try to take home fruits like bananas, apples grapes and oranges. So whenever you are craving for sweet you have no choice but to grab one of these healthy fruits of course. Now give your body some time to adjust with those fruits and when it happens, Your body is now used to having those fruits instead of those sweet junk foods.

Keep a well balanced diet and exercise, this will not only keep your body fit but it also help the blood sugar level stable.

Foods that can cause migraines to everyone.


there are many people that whenever they eat certain foods they get a migraine. Maybe some people drink wine and all of sudden they are having a migraine. But what are the foods that causes migraine.

The most common migraine triggers are red wine, chocolates, other alcoholic beverages, even healthy foods such as yogurt, bananas, citrus fruits, onions. ANd take note that for each different people it's a different set of fruit, If you have migraine. you have to stop eating all of these foods, It's a way to find out what triggers your headache. One of the best way to prevent and know which food cause your migraine is to keep a notebook and whenever you are having a headache. Try to write down everything you eat before you got the headache( the previous 8-12 hours). So if you see a pattern every time you had a headache whenever you eat bananas, then maybe that's your trigger.

For many people food doesn't play a role at all, they can eat anything, they can drink anything they want, and not get a headache from food, for some people it's dramatic that is if they stay on a very strict diet they will not get a single headache. For most people it's in between. Foods contribute to the migraine but it's not the only or the major trigger for their headaches.

There are still a lot of foods that causes headaches such as raisins, cheese, peanut butter, tofu, nuts, soy sauce, avocado etc, All of these are healthy food. Anything smoked, cured, pickled anything that has preservatives, all that can trigger headache. For some people it's MSG. some people are other preservatives such as artificial sweeteners. Again it depends on the individual so you can't generalize the list. So if you usually have migraines, check the food you ate in the past 12 hours.

growing your own organic garden can actually be helpful to you. It might be a little hard at first but when you get the hang of it. It's actually relaxing and satisfying. And you get healthy vegetables and fruits right from your own garden.

You have to have your own garden of course. Every single person is responsible for how we treat our soil and the environment, to safeguard it for the future generations to come and see. We can grow our own vegetables and fruits the organic way.

Our soil should always be pesticide free. Our healthy soil definitely needs to be maintained with recycled materials and compost. Now compost is not as hard as you think. It's really easy to make. Get any large container to make your compost bin and let it sit directly to the soil so any liquid produce that the matierial brakes down can drain away. so it's best not to put on paving or concrete.

So what can you compost? anything that is on living origin. Vegetable and fruit peelings that you can get easily from your kitchen is very good for composting. Do not add meat scraps or cooked food in your compost bin.Paper likes cardboard boxes, egg trays , kitchen paper, and general low grade paper can be used as well.Crumpled the paper before putting to the compost bin, this is better than shredding it, or cutting it.

Leaves and plants are also good for composting. Compost should be dark,rich sweet smelling and crumbly.Remember that the compost is used to condition your soil and to add for your pots as well.So now you can start to grow your own garden with healthy soil.

Folate-Rich Diet Cuts Women's Colon Cancer Risk


Here's a news that recently caught my attention. I knew this because a friend of mine have told me about it and I wanted to share it to everyone.

Eating plenty of folate may sharply reduce the risk of colorectal cancer, at least for women, South Korean researchers report.

In a study of 596 colorectal cancer patients and 509 healthy individuals, they found that the women who ate the most folate were at about two-thirds lower risk of the disease than women who consumed the smallest amount of the B vitamin.

But folate intake didn't significantly affect men's colorectal cancer risk, Dr. J. Kim of the National Cancer Center in Goyang and colleagues report.

Deaths from colorectal cancer have jumped more than six-fold among South Koreans since the early 1980s, the researchers note, and an increasingly Western-style diet may be a factor in the increase.

There is evidence that intake of folate, which is found in green, leafy vegetables and citrus fruits, may reduce colorectal cancer risk, although some research suggests this protective effect could vary by ethnic background.

To look at the relationship in a Korean population, the researchers compared the diets of colorectal cancer patients and healthy controls matched by age and gender. The cancer patients drank and smoked more, were less active, and were also more likely to have a family history of the disease.

The researchers looked at the influence of dietary folate intake on disease risk after using statistical techniques to control for these factors, and found that people in the top fifth based on their folate intake (consuming more than 270 micrograms a day) were more than half as likely to have cancer compared to people in the bottom fifth, who ate 180 micrograms or less daily.

When Kim and colleagues looked at men and women separately, they found no influence of folate intake on mens' colorectal cancer risk. But women with high folate consumption (over 300 micrograms a day) were 64 percent less likely to develop colorectal cancer compared to women with the lowest consumption (200 micrograms daily or less).

The findings are important, the researchers note, because they suggest that cancer risk can be decreased by modifying diet.

The body needs folate in order to form nucleotides (the building blocks of DNA and RNA), to copy DNA, and for other essential genetic functions, so low folate intake could contribute

The Philippine Mango

Why I love this fruit? it's sweet and delicious and I just can't get enough of it. My children would go crazy whenever I make mango shake or smoothies, It's just one of the fruits that aren't very hard to fell in love with.

Way back in 1995 the Guinness book of world records listed the Philippine Carabao Mango as the sweetest fruit in the world. This fruit is eaten raw, dried, preserved, frozen, juiced, concentrated( I was once addicted to this) you can do anything with it, Baked with cake, you can make shakes and smoothies and I'm 100% sure it would be the biggest hit, especially during summer.

What do we get from mangoes?Mangoes are very rich in Vitamin A,C and potassium, We all know that Vitamins C and A are antioxidants, it helps prevent free radical injury and therefore , reduce the risk of certain cancers. My mother would always tell me. " who ate the mangoes?" I really can't help myself. Anyways, to be able to determine if the mango is sweet and right. Make sure that the peel is smooth and has some imperfections like black discolorations, but if the peel is too perfect. It's not sweet. Smell it it does smell sweet.

The healing water


There are so many juices, health drinks, smoothies out there already. But of course Water is still the best for everyone. 50% to 60% of our body is depending on our gender and our age is made out of water. We really can't survive without water, we all know that. Just imagine yourself stuck on an island or dessert without water, You may last for few days but after that.... From a Chinese Herbal Doctor point of view, water is what allows a communication between the different parts of the body, between the different organs.

It smoothes things out, it lubricates everything in the body. It allows a better flow, through the blood, through the body fluids and other aspects that are really made out of water. The reason why water is so important to our health. Especially in these days, is probably majority of people are chronically dehydrated. Chronically do not drink enough water on a regular basis, and why is it that is so importance? We all lived in a fast-phased world. We are on a run as part of the society which is very much goal-oriented. And what happen with this kind of lifestyle?

We get a dramatic surge in heart disease, Arterial sclerosis, in diabetes, In Cancer. Inflammationa nd over heating is even part of it. And something simple thing that we can do is to drink enough water. maybe from 8 cups to 16 cups of water. It depends on our age, on our activity, and on the weather, well of course we need much more water when it is very hot outside. When is the best time to drink water? The nest time to drink water on its own and not while were eating, The reason is that when we drink water while we're eating. We are diluting the juices of the stomach, the digestive enzymes. And we are making our stomach less acidic. Which can interfer with the digestion of the food, especially the digestion of protein.

So even if you are drinking one or two glasses of water 5 to 10 minutes before your meal, a lot of it will get absorb quickly enough, best to drink it 15 to 30 minutes before. but if you are sitting on a meal and you feel thirsty, drink your water and wait for a few minutes. In many cases if you have a headache ,before you take a pain killer just take a few glasses of water. You may find that if you drink 4 to 6 glasses of water, in more than 50% of cases the headache will simply go away.

And when we are not dehydrated our headache goes away, ou body feel less tight,we lubricate our body, We nourished simply by drinking enough water.

Why I so love coconut.


I just wanted everyone to know how much i love coconuts! and I just love everything about it, the water and the coconut meat. Oh men, I just love it. The coconut water taste so clean, did i just say clean? lol! well, what I meant was it's free from artificial stuffs. And I hate myself of always forgetting to blog about it.

Coconut water is the highest natural source of electrolytes , And yes it is much better than just your plain water. Twice in my life I got UTI, Urinary Tract Infection. And so It was really hard for me to pee, It was so painful that I cried, well, I was a kid then, The second time I have had it was when I was pregnant, I think I know some pregnant women has been in this kind of situation. Anyways, My mother would always tell me, Drink coconut water until you get well, It wasn't really the hardest thing for me. Because I love coconuts. Alright, I religiously drink it, I love it when it's cold Alright so in just amatter of a day or two. I'm OK. Honest!

So the coconut water has this antibacterial thing that kills all those bacteria that causes, throat infections, Urinary Tract Infections, Pneumonia and other diseases. Coconut milk has a lot of vitamins and minerals so My mother would always let my children drink a whole glass of it. It;s good for the skin and hair you know. So this weekend have a coconut water in the fridge and serve it with ice to your family.
