Image via WikipediaOne of my good friend, MJ, who is also a voice coach has this problem. She easily get her sore throat and it will be cured for only few weeks and it will return. I was really concern so i did my research.
She always say that her throat is always itchy and sometimes with burning sensation. One sign before you get fever, flu and tonsillitis is sore throat.
Sore throat is mad e by stretococcus bacterium. One main reason why people get this is beacuse of poor and unhealthy diet high intake of unrefined carbohydrates, too much sweets. Like those in biscuits, table sugar, etc.
Stress, smoking and drinking are the reasons why our bodies reduce it's resistance against infections. You should add enough Vitamin D and E to your daily diet to avoid sore throat. Vitamin D can be found in fatty fish. That's why you have to be in a fish diet if you have sore throat. This will prevent infections and provide healthy immune system.. While Vitamin E can be found in Avocado, Olive oil, nuts and seeds.
So always remember prevention is still better than cure.

Congenital and conductive deafness.
I visited an old friend last Tuesday, I had a great time talking and catching up but that wasn't the one that i really can't forget, it was my friend's niece. She was just around 2 years old. I called her but she didn't react or respond.
Then i found out that she was deaf. My friend told me that it was Congenital deafness. And she is planning to send her to speech classes the moment the kid started schooling. I was really concern because this is the first time i saw somebody that is deaf at a very young age.
So the moment i arrived i started my research about different type of deafness, and here's what i found.
Congenital deafness is one type of deafness that started from the moment you were born. It's like you already show hearing defects since you were young. People don't usually react to different sounds that surround them.
You will know if a child has these kind of hearing defects if he's old enough to talk but still doesn't talk. They should be wearing hearing aids and should undergo some speech training. Congenital deafness usually started from mothers who has German Measles.
Conductive deafness is a hearing loss that is cause by a defect of the external canal and the middle ear.

Want to grow taller?
Have you ever thought of being taller? A lot of my friends would love to be taller. Lucky for me I'm tall enough for my age..... i guess. There are ways to be taller, There are operations that will help you to add more height.
A good example is The Fitbone technology.
Fitbone Technology was originally intended to correct shortened or deformed limb bones caused by injury, disease or other causes like congenital defect. Today, it is the latest technology in limb lengthening and strengthening. Through this technology, an individual can gain up to 180 mm in height in about six months.
The Fitbone procedure is much safer to use and simpler to perform compared to the conventional bone extension surgery methods known today. Unlike the external frame that is bulky and seen on the outside, the Fitbone is placed intramedullarily or inside the bone. Fitbone uses a steel implant that gradually lengthens when activated by a wireless control unit. The device is inserted into the hollow of a bone that has been cut crosswise. The device, activated by the remote control unit, increases in length at 1 mm a day. The bone's cut ends grow and fuse eventually.
But if you're still young, then you don't need Fitbone a simple balanced diet would be perfect. If you're small and your afraid that your kids will inherit your genes, then try to give them a well balanced diet.
milk is high in calcium, Vitamin b and protein, Enough sleep is also needed because this will increase growth hormone to make them taller. It's really our choice to make our children and ourselves taller naturally or not.

Nurture yourself everyday.
There are days that we tend to forget ourselves. We are so busy that we even forget to change clothes or eat dinner. Give your self some time to breathe everyday.
Relax that vacation is useless if you can't take your mind off your work(guilty!) Be in the moment. Meditate. Its' an excellent way to let go of worries, concentrate and free up your activity.
Let go of guilt, guilt, every mom's constant companion, can ruin your self-nurturing plans. Think of yourself as a cellphone: If your battery is drained, you're absolutely useless. Go and recharge.
Manage time. Examine your day and minimize, if not eliminate, time wasters, such as mindless TV watching; e-mails; purposeless web surfing; video games; chatting on the telephone or endless texting and commuting or driving in traffic ( try leaving the house earlier to minimize travel time, and getting stuck in traffic jam)
Next time you tell yourself that you don't have time, remember: You can find the time.

It's Christmas once again and most of us would spend our holiday season with our families and loved ones. Most of us just need to travel for hours just to be with our family. Of course, in long hours of traveling. most of us parents are always ready, we always make it a point to bring first aid kits. But what exactly do we need to bring.
Well, We should always remember that first aid kit is something all of us shouldn't forget. Especially those family members who have asthma, diabetes, hypertension etc.

Are you having too much of everything?
I just came from Church today, and thought that the topic today is worth sharing. I don't want to sound like a preacher or something. But i just wanted to tell everyone that to be able to move on to our lives, is we really have to take care of our body.
God gave us so many blessings but people abuse it. how?
He gave us the blessings of abundant food and drink, but what do we do? we abuse it. we don't take care of it. We eat too much, we drink too much, we forget that everything has limitations. So in the end, what do we get? Diabetes, Cancer, Different diseases and illness.
God gave us those blessings in order to live, be healthy and of course be happy, but when is happiness too much? How will you know if its too much? If you're feeling the pain already? If you're starting to get tired, stressed, sick, depressed?
He gave us the blessing of freedom. Freedom to choose. Do we choose what we eat? or do we just eat and then choose. We can enjoy our freedom. We can do whatever we wanted to. but we have to be responsible enough of our bodies. When are we going to start? around 40?
I think I'm beginning to sound like my grand mother! hahaha! I sometimes feel guilty of these too, who don't? but hey, some people just need some little reminders right? a little warning won't hurt.

How to lose the holiday weight gain.
Thanksgiving, Christmas, New year. So many holidays and of course........ feast! who doesn't love to eat right? especially when everybody is enjoying eating and having fun. But of course sometimes we tend to forget our diet, counting calories, food portions. etc. I'm sometimes guilty of this too.
Here are some tips that hope to help you lose some holiday weight gain.
1. Eat fruits and vegetables. They'll give you more food and less calories. You just came out of holiday feast so better start eating healthy foods and gain power not fat.
2. Spice things up. A little salsa can add a lot of flavor to a baked potato-and for few calories. I know, many people may not like to eat boring or bland healthy foods. So spice up your food a little.
3. For sweets. just grab low-fat yogurt instead of ice cream. There are many low fat yogurts around nowadays. You might thought of grabbing a low fat ice cream, but better not.
4. Besides cutting calories, a high fiber diet help prevent cancer, heart disease and digestive illness. So wake up with an oatmeal breakfast or just get a high fiber lunch and your off to lose weight.
5. Exercise everyday. Oh yes! You ate a lot last holiday, so lose that fat!
Everything may seem to be very hard, but i still think that if you put your heart to it. I mean discipline is one major key to lose weight! We still have few more holiday feasts to come so if you think you are having a hard time to lose weight. Then control yourself.
